Best Practices for how to Base Cell pastes                                    (Easy Intro to the Swipe Technique)

Colour Passion base pastes are designed to shine when used in layered resin techniques, especially for creating base cell effects.

For best results:

1. Start with your base layer
   Mix the Base Paste (color of your choice) into your completely mixed resin and apply it as your base layer.

2. Add a contrasting paste (different brand)
   For the best cell development, layer a second paste from a different brand (such as JR or CO) over the top. Works best if you apply this layer thinly. The best way to achieve this is using the Swipe Technique.

3. Use the Swipe Technique (recommended)
   Using a swipe paper or tool, gently drag the top layer across the base paste mixture. This technique keeps the top layer thin without using too much heat. This is what helps create separation and cell formation.

4. Apply minimal heat
   Base cell pastes respond best to very light heat. Too much heat can thin the resin too much - which will weaken the cell structure.  This will make your cells look fuzzy, sharp or broken, so keep it subtle.

5. Let the resin relax
   After manipulation, allow the resin to self-level, cool and settle. This is when the most beautiful cell shapes and movement will fully develop.

Pro Tip: Less is more. Thin layers, gentle movement, and minimal heat will give you the strongest cell definition and cleanest results.
