Please reach us at thornton@artisttilldeath.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I sure can. I often color match so if you email me a swatch of what you are looking for, i can find the color or make it for you.
This is a question we get often and it is so hard to say without knowing what look you are going for. I would say that some of the colors I always want to have are: Just Resin Titanium White, Colour Passion Thornton Shimmer, Colour Passion Black Base Paste, Colour Obsession Dark Turquoise, Just Resin Blue Diamond, Just Resin Bright Yellow, Just Resin Blue Ghost, Colour Passion Berry Base Paste, Colour Obsession Rich Gold Shimmer, Colour Obsession Silver Shimmer... I could go on - send me an email with what project you are working on and i will be happy to color match for you.
In my opinion, ocean artwork should have some form of transparency because water is clear (usually). So, my favorite colors for oceans are Bondi Blue and Blue Lagoon - both are tints by Colour Obsession. If those two are out - choose any similar tint.
It is so hard to gage demand of any particular color and sometimes I do run out and my stock will lapse. I get shipments from all of my companies every other week or so and as long as the parent company has it in stock - i will get it within two weeks as all companies are on a rotation for importing.
As of right now I ship everything in my store across the US and around the world (except for resin as it is a product that is difficult to import currently).
An interference pigment is one that has a main color but when light hits it - you can see a shimmer of a different color.
A chameleon pigment is one that is one color when seen from one angle and is a completely different color when seen from a different angle.
Yes! I teach classes in Dallas, in other cities and online! Our online class kits can be found here and the free tutorial videos are linked in the description of each class kit. If you would like us to teach a class in your city - send us an email and lets discuss!!
The class kits contain just a bit more product than what is required for the piece. Typically the size is 5g of each color.
That would depend on what kind of project you are doing. The simplest projects (like one color finishes or flood coats) need about 3oz per sqft. More intricate projects could take up to 6oz per sqft.
The resins we carry on our site all have UV stabilizers and HALS (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers) to prevent discoloration over time. That being said - all resin has the potential to change color over time if left in hot conditions, are in direct sunlight or is mixed with colorants that aren't meant for use in epoxy resins. Ultimately, you can hide and delay this process but (to my knowledge) it is impossible to completely stop it in the long run (currently).
As a one person operation - I try my best to get your order sent out the same day (if ordered by noon on a weekday and if the items ordered are in stock). Otherwise they go out the next day.
Please send us an email with a photo and what you used so that we can get you the most accurate answer. Typically when this happens, the resin wasn't mixed properly or you are working in a very cold environment.
Yes, you can but be advised that it could shorten your working time. This is because to cure - the resin heats up. Pre-heating the resin jump starts this process. Some people use a hot water bath and others use space heaters. Slightly heating up is ok - just keep an eye on your working time.
